I can't believe it's already New Year's Eve! This year has flown by! My family doesn't have a ton of NYE traditions. We usually play games and the night ends with me (and a sibling sometimes) dancing around while we wait for the ball to drop in Times Square. I try to convince my parents to join the dance fest every year but they never do. Maybe today is the day! Either way, here's what I'm queuing up:

Happy dancing and Happy New Year!

You know what happens when you have a sick day? You're up all night watching Lord of the Rings because you spent the whole day sleeping. I've spent enough hours willing my body to go to sleep that I've finally given up and accepted that it's probably going to be an all nighter. In the immortal words of Katy Perry, "I'm wide awake."

Is there anything worse than being sick while you're on vacation?

My guess is no. But here I am, curled up in my room watching North & South while the family bustles about. I guess the one plus is that I feel absolutely no guilt about binge watching Netflix. It's a fabulous series which I highly recommend, whether or not you're ill. It's tragic and romantic and everything else you need when you're sick. Very Downton Abbey meets Jane Austen. Am I the only one who watches Jane Austen whenever I'm sick? So, naturally, when I've exhausted all the Netflix episodes I'll watch Sense & Sensibility. Happy sick day, readers :)

My friends over at Twelve Countries in Twelve Months are talking about the Christmas traditions in each of the 12 countries they're visiting during their year abroad. This inspired me to look at some of the traditions of the places I visited in Europe this summer.

I cannot believe the end of the year is already here! Technically it's not the end of the year, but remember who's avoiding studying? :)

You when it's finals week and you should be spending hours slaving over your notes, but instead you find every possible reason not to? Welcome to my life. Instead, I'm making my dream Christmas wish list.

I just love Christmas! It really is the most wonderful time of the year.  I break the sacred rule of not listening to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. And I don't even feel guilty. (Side note, I want this dog. I'd name him Hank.)

I'm only a week or so late in getting this post up :) I spent the week of Thanksgiving at my brother's house in Boston and it was perfect! Enjoy the photo dump!
