A few weeks ago my family and I met in Orlando for some fun and sun (which didn't happen since it rained all week 😭). It was the first family vacation we'd taken in a while and the first since we've all grown up. Family vacation used to mean piling in the car and preparing for hours of interrupted personal space. Now we all get on planes to see each other.

This pattern is still so foreign. When did I get old enough for this to be the new normal?? While I'm still in denial about that, there's also a romance to it. There's a thrill to answering the inevitable question of, "Where are you going?" with "Family vacation" and knowing that your clan is descending onto an unsuspecting location.
