Last night Keyla and I decided to go see the Carl Bloch exhibit at BYU's Museum of Art.  This was the second time that I been and it was just as amazing.  Bloch spent his life painting the life of Christ.  He was able to capture Christ's ministry in such a beautiful way.  His paintings are soft, but intense at the same time and the range of emotion that Bloch is able to portray is exquisite. He uses light in way that I had never seen before.  Every detail is thought out and expertly executed.  His works are sublime! I love this exhibit; it's golden :)

Best weekend ever!!! I spent the weekend at my Aunt Kris's and had the privilege to watch General Conference. General Conference is broadcasted church meeting that happens every six months where the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints speak.  They provide messages of council, warning, and encouragement.  What a blessing it is to hear to listen to them!  I am so grateful for the direction they provide to me.
This conference was filled with so many wonderful treasures; I cannot possibly begin to write them all down.  I am grateful for President Uchtdorf's talk that encouraged us to move forward with faith.  Oftentimes it seems that when things become difficult we stop relying on Heavenly Father.  President Uchtdorf reminded us that these difficult times is when we need Him the most.  We have to trust that Heavenly Father knows us well enough to know what will be best for us.
I also really enjoyed Elder Paul V. Johnson's talk on adversity that we undoubtedly encounter during this life. He explained that this is part of the experience and these experiences help to refine us and make us better.  Having this perspective allows us to move through trials with a hope that all things will work together for our good.
Many of the talks focused on the blessings of the temple.  I am so grateful for the peace and joy that the temple has brought into my life.  My life has been greatly blessed by the temple.  I know that these blessings are real.  I am grateful that these inspired men helped me to refocus my life and ensure that my priorities are in order.  Best weekend ever!!!!

The Hindi Temple on the first throw
There's one bad thing about blogging...I never know what to blog about.  So I have to resort to my weekend :) On Saturday my roommate Kelsey, my friend Doug, Doug's cousin, and I went the Festival of Colors.  This festival is a Hindi celebration that celebrates the coming of spring.  To usher in spring, all the participants are given bags full of colorful chalk to throw in the air.  The initial throw is amazing! All of the colors soar into the air, creating a patchwork quilt in the sky. By the end of the festival I was covered.  I had chalk everywhere!I don't think that I've ever been so excited to take a shower. I basically felt like a walking rainbow.  Even though it was cold and messy, Festival of Colors was one of the most fun things I have ever done :)

Covered in chalk!
I cannot wait to go to Jerusalem!!! In 38 days I will be in the Holy Land! It is a little bit overwhelming to think about traveling to another country, especially a place where I do not know the language.  Aside from this insecurity, I have zero reservations about my upcoming adventure.  I cannot fathom the experiences that I will have while I am in Israel.  Every time I heard that word 'Jerusalem' my heart jumps a little bit.  I'm excited to experience a different culture firsthand.  I have never been anywhere where the lifestyle is so different. I'm so anxious! I just want it to be here!

While I am anticipating an amazing cultural experience, I am more excited to live where Christ lived, if even for a short period of time. I realize how truly fortunate I am to have this opportunity.  I am bursting with excitement when I think that I will get to sit in a boat on the Sea of Galilee or sit outside the Garden Tomb.  There is a reason that Jerusalem is called the Holy Land and I intend to take full advantage of this unique city.  I brimming with anticipation as I think about visiting the Western Wall and the manger in Bethlehem. I'm ready!!! Jerusalem or bust!
Sometimes I think that I take lots of things for granted. I tend to just look at the things I am lacking.  I forget about all the wonderful things I have been blessed with.  Thus, I have decided to make a short list of things I am grateful for. This list could be soo much longer though :)
